Amanda Brugel

(February 27 2010 (February 27, 2010 Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a secluded community in that portion of the island of Montreal called"the West Island. In reality, the West Island, to those who are unfamiliar with it, is an extensive part that stretches from Lachine all the way west. Amanda Brugel is said to have been born on West Island. This isn't the case. Brugel grew up in Courtice near Oshawa Ontario. Her first ambition was to be a professional dancer. However, the rapid growth of her body led to she grew beyond her dance partners. She admitted in an article published by the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall while wearing heels. When I grew out of male companions, I began to stop. In the case of Brugel it was the encouragement of one of her drama teachers from high school, which prompted her to start acting. It was her teacher who encouraged her to try out in the role of Anne in the school's annual production. The teacher who suggested she go after a role in the school's annual show. This led to the award of a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program which she graduated with the Bachelor in Fine Arts degree in 2000. Since then, for the more than 20 years that followed, Brugel has landed roles in over 60 shows on both small and large screens attracting the most attention after she landed the role of Rita in the award-winning show The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the sole Canadian in the season 1 actors of the series and was only seen on occasion, was the only Canadian.
